About Me

IT professional with 20+ years experience in Data / Software Development across Finance, Telecom and Consultancy. Ability to work in fast-changing environments, delivering business solutions and IT consulting with technical management. Worked in projects globally, mainly Latin America and UK. Passionate about Data / Data Science, upskilled myself joining several Data Science and Coding courses during my 4 year career break.

Career

Graduated in Computer Science in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (UFRJ 1990). Worked in consultancies such as PwC and Lucent Technologies, delivering Finance and Telecom IT projects in the Latin America region. Worked also as an Oracle Developer at Banco Marka/ Modal (Investment Banking). Graduated in the Executive MBA in Finances (IBMEC/RJ 2000).

Moved to the UK in 2005 and worked for CSG International as a Project Consultant, supporting British Telecom IT billing platform. Joined Royal Bank of Scotland in 2007 as a Senior Oracle Developer, responsible for performance management of their production DB environment (Oracle / SQL). Left RBS in 2013 and moved with the family to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Joined Amdocs consultancy in 2014 as a Solutions Integration and Implementation Manager, working at Vivo / Telefonica. Managed the Integration Phase of Amdocs software solutions being a interface focal point for the client’s internal teams. Left Amdocs in 2016 and started a career break. Since then I joined several online Data Science and coding courses.

Moved back to the UK in 2018 and, after settling back, joined Cambridge Spark Data Science Bootcamp, completed in April 2020. Joined the Tech Returners programme "Your Return to Tech", delivering on October 2020 a Tech for Good web application which scans content online providing insights into the sentiment behind them (Python/ NLP libraries and AWS):

ML Regression Model for Cancer Mortality Prediction

This project aimed to compare results between four Machine Learning regression models and define the one which best predicts a target variable on a given dataset. SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) was used to explain feature correlations of the best model.

Kedro Viz Open Source contribution

Code fixes in the Kedro-Viz platform (Python Sprints meetup at QuantumBlack). Kedro-Viz is a tool that shows how your datasets and Python functions (nodes) are resolved in Kedro so that you can understand how your data pipeline is structured and built.
